SPE redesigned the factory 6.7L variable-geometry turbo to fix known failure points. It has a one-piece cast front cover in place of the factory two-piece cover, a 360-degree hardened thrust bearing in place of the stock 270-degree bearing, upgraded journal bearings, and a high-nickel stepped gap ring to keep oil out of the exhaust side.
The Stage 1 uses a 62 mm, 11-blade billet compressor wheel that SPE rates at up to 81 lb/min, compared with 70 lb/min stock. The factory vane cage is gone, and the vanes are built into the exhaust housing. SPE says it drops in, supports up to 650 hp with proper tune and fuel, and needs no recalibration on 2015-2019 trucks.
6.7L Power Stroke owners replacing a failed or worn factory turbo, or adding power.
