SPE redesigned the factory 6.7L variable-geometry turbo to fix known failure points. It has a one-piece cast front cover in place of the factory two-piece cover, a 360-degree hardened thrust bearing in place of the stock 270-degree bearing, upgraded journal bearings, and a high-nickel stepped gap ring to keep oil out of the exhaust side.
The Stage 2 has a new turbine and housings, larger oil passages, and a 66 mm through-bore billet compressor wheel that SPE rates at up to 88 lb/min, compared with 70 lb/min stock. The 10-blade turbine is made for the 6.7L. SPE says it drives like stock and supports 750+ hp with proper tune and fuel.
6.7L Power Stroke owners replacing a failed or worn factory turbo, or adding power.
