Drive-by-wire Duramax trucks are set up at the factory with a soft, delayed pedal. You press down and the torque comes on slowly. The Banks PedalMonster plugs in between the accelerator pedal and the engine computer and reshapes that signal, so the truck pulls harder off the line and has more mid-range punch when you merge or pass. Basic throttle boxes only rescale pedal position. PedalMonster also reads live powertrain data, including vehicle speed and gear, through the OBD-II port and runs on fused 12V power from that port. Because it doesn't draw from the pedal's 5V sensor circuit, it avoids the check engine lights and dead-pedal problems that circuit can cause.
There are 30 torque response curves, split into three sets of 10: High Torque, Midrange and High Performance. If a curve that feels right on the highway is too jumpy in town, choose one of 5 Launch Trim levels to soften response below 10 mph. You can change curves and trim levels while driving, so there's no need to stop.
The kit pairs the PedalMonster with a new Banks iDash Data Pro gauge. Once it's mounted, you can switch torque curves and Launch Trim from the gauge, keep an eye on live engine and transmission readings that the factory cluster doesn't show, and record drives with the gauge's data logging. Bluetooth is built in, so Banks can add features and supported readings over the air through the Banks Power app, and you can set up your gauge layout from your phone. No laptop needed.
Choose this kit if you want to log data as well as watch it. If you only need a live gauge, the iDash Pro kit (64322-CP) costs less.
