Outerwears Air Filter Cover

A pre-filter that keeps the main filter clean

Wehrli uses and recommends these Outerwears covers on every Wehrli filter in its turbo and intake kits. The cover knocks off the debris that would otherwise clog the filter early and rob it of airflow, and it stretches the time between filter services.

It runs dry, with no oil, so dirt does not stick to it; only particles smaller than .005 in. reach the filter. The woven mesh gets a water-repellent treatment at the mill rather than a spray-on coating, so it does not cut airflow. It resists water from splashes and heavy rain but is not waterproof, and the treatment lasts six months to a year. Wehrli suggests replacing the cover at every other filter service.
