BD designed this performance manifold around a wastegate to protect the turbo. The cast-and-machined wastegate port keeps the manifold fully divided, so pulse flow is retained.
Internal geometry was refined with computational fluid dynamics for more flow across the rpm range with a high-flow T4 or T6-based turbo. The thick-wall high-silicon ductile iron holds heat energy, slip joints reduce thermal fatigue, and 1/8 NPT ports come drilled and tapped.
Owners of 1998.5-2007 5.9L Cummins Rams building a performance turbo setup with an external wastegate.
