On LB7/LLY/LBZ Duramax 4x4 trucks the Allison's rear housing is a weak point. This fabricated tubular steel brace ties it to the transfer case and spreads the transfer case load onto the transmission center section.
Wehrli developed and tested it on high-horsepower trucks used hard, such as off-roading, pulling and drag racing. It cuts the flex from driveline vibration, such as a bad U-joint or driveshaft, that can crack the housing and lead to fluid leaks and costly transmission or transfer case damage.
It uses the factory fasteners and installs with basic hand tools, without removing the transmission or transfer case.
