Big power, lift kits and larger tires load GM HD steering beyond what the factory planned for, leading to loose steering, toe-in under load in 4WD and broken tie rods.
BD rates its forged I-beam centerlink at 30% stronger than the factory part. Its tie rods are 1.5 times as thick as stock and use bigger inner ball joints, and BD's testing showed they take more than twice the force of stock rods. The greaseable ball joints use sintered bearings, and longer through-bolt sway bar end links are included to clear the bigger rods and leveling kits.
Owners of Duramax HD trucks that tow, are lifted or run bigger tires and power.
