BD's Xtrude core uses 200 micro-extruded passages and a large surface area, and BD says it cools 22 percent better than other designs. Turbulent oil flow cools more completely, and large 5/8 in ports keep inlet and outlet flow unrestricted.
The furnace-brazed rails are tested to 300 psi. An 80-watt, 10 in, 800 CFM electric fan moves air through it, with an IP54-rated motor and a 65 percent duty cycle. BD rates it at 33,930 BTU/hr for vehicles over 30,000 lb GVW.
Owners of trucks that tow heavy and need more transmission cooling.
