At light pedal the 48RE runs low mainline pressure, which can bring converter shudder plus clutch and band slip. With its dash push-button on, BD's controller raises line pressure by making the transmission see a higher throttle position.
The added pressure is greatest at light throttle and tapers back toward stock as you near full throttle. It nearly ends shuttle shifting at light throttle, and it slightly holds shifts to stop lugging, cutting shift flare and gear hunting. It plugs in line with the factory sealed connectors, has three levels, and works well alongside performance modules.
Owners of 2005-2006 5.9L Cummins Rams with the 48RE, especially with added power.
