No more sticking valve
The 7.3L's exhaust backpressure valve is a warm-up aid that is known to stick. BD's upgraded pedestal for the GTP38 turbo is built without that valve.
It suits areas where the warm-up feature isn't needed, or trucks plagued by a sticking valve.
