ATS Diesel 1994-2007 Cummins 5.9L Five Star Transmission Torque Converter | 3029502164

ATS Five Star torque converter

The ATS Five Star is a multi-disc lock-up torque converter for the 47RH / 47RE / 48RE automatic. ATS builds it for daily driving and towing, and it ships with their 5 year / 500,000 mile warranty.

ATS puts torque multiplication at about 2.4:1 at peak engine torque, compared with roughly 1.25:1 for the factory converter. More multiplication means quicker response off the line and better pull with a trailer.

The front cover is billet with ATS’s patented square-tab flank drive. Square tabs spread the load where round tabs tend to hammer into the cover over time. The turbine and impeller vanes are fully welded and the turbine splines are hardened 4340 steel.

Who it's for

Owners of a 1994-2007 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 5.9L Cummins who tow or have added power and want a converter that locks up solidly and holds it.
