Make the exhaust brake work harder

Without a lock-up device, exhaust braking through a slipping converter heats the automatic, and most converters pass just 10 to 80 percent of the retarding force through the fluid coupling.

BD's TorqLoc keeps the converter clutch locked whenever the BD exhaust brake is on, so up to 100 percent of the braking force gets through in 3rd and 4th and fluid temperature stays down with little or no slip.
