BD's kit for the 5-speed Allison 1000 includes its own smart trim/clutch control valve assemblies for added durability, and BD rates it for 500 street horsepower.

It targets the usual complaints: dropping to neutral under load, slipping on the 3-4 shift, burnt C2/C3 clutches, sticking in one gear, not moving after sitting, and loss of pump prime, while giving short, crisp, smooth upshifts and kickdowns. The internal parts require removing the transmission, and BD recommends an experienced technician.
