The ATS TripleLok is a multi-disc lock-up torque converter for the Allison LCT1000 automatic. ATS builds it for daily driving and towing, and it ships with their 5 year (per ATS converter warranty) warranty.
ATS keeps a factory-style stall speed so the truck drives normally, while the clutch pack is built to hold far more torque in lock-up.
The front cover is billet with ATS’s patented square-tab flank drive. Square tabs spread the load where round tabs tend to hammer into the cover over time. The turbine and impeller vanes are fully welded and the turbine splines are hardened 4340 steel.
TripleLok uses three lock-up clutch discs. ATS says that gives about three times the holding capacity of a single-disc converter, so it will not slip under hard throttle or a heavy load. ATS holds two U.S. patents on the design.
Owners of a 2001-2010 GM 2500/3500 6.6L Duramax who tow or have added power and want a converter that locks up solidly and holds it.
